.rain Poem by Vidyadhar Durgekar

.rain

Rating: 5.0

Droplets of water pouring from heaven,
Standing in the window counting one by one,
Singing melodious tunes, father and son,
Greeting onset of monsoon, the rainy season;

Rains bring with it the natural splendor,
Beginning of blossoming of lavender,
Sometime with a backdropp of thunder,
Washing all the dirt down under;

Frogs sing with their sack croak, croak
Leaping to welcome rains with rhythmic sonant,
Pouring rains heightens the spirit of young blokes,
Boys and girls dancing with their cloths soaked;

Seasonal rains are farmer’s boon
To plant his paddy harvest crop soon,
Which bring with it the awaited promise,
As a Natures reward for his toil and sacrifice;

The aroma of the rising wet dust,
Pleasing the senses for the season of wet,
For young and old fosters romance at best,
For courting like lovebirds in their homely nest;

Vanakkam Annachi....I enjoy reading this poem very much just like I enjoy watching raindrops kissing the earth, and gradually fill up the potholes. Beautiful.
