Promises made and not kept...
Are not easy to forgive or forget.
Those that do this are usually met,
With less respect than they expect...
Or get!

To excuse a promise made,
Often degrades a relationship.
Especially if made to children.
Children do not forget it.

And adults who make promises...
With no intentions to fulfill them.
Find themselves blaming someone else,
For breaking a commitment.
Only to discover,
They have become the reason and cause...
Of that person's resentment.
