There's a dark corner in my heart
that has never seen the light of day
It lives in shadows of fear
refusing to come out the other way
It hides a love so pure
the stars would dim before it
It stores a longing so intense
the sun would hide in shame
It shines like the moon
in the dark sky of secrets
Refusing to show itself
among the ones who need it
And so it festered alone
hiding behind closed doors
Fearing rejection and hurt
claiming to find comfort
in its solitary existence.
