Responsibility (For What Is Right) Poem by Eric Cockrell

Responsibility (For What Is Right)

Rating: 5.0

i cannot get past the image
of a small boy kneeling
between the dead bodies

of his mother and father,
tears running down his face,
praying....

if we do not take responsibility
for what is wrong in this world...
we cannot claim responsibility

for what is right!

i cannot get past the image of a small boy kneeling between the dead bodies of his mother and father, tears running down his face, praying.... This is a poem with an image that should be engraved upon the hearts of all earth's billions of souls. Then we few who pray for peace would finally be joined by billions. Another essence of truth stated here, for decades I have observed an arrogant world leadership claiming credit for everything good and beautiful upon this earth, beauty created by God or the sweat and hard work of others; while swiftly blaming God for the destruction misery poverty, which their greed errors and wars created.
