Your poem reflects the idea of the famous shloka of Bhagavat Geeta: Uddharetatman aatmanam Na aatmanam avasadayet Aaatmasya aatmano bandhu- raatmasya ripuraatmana Swami Chinmayananda has translated this shloka as Let a man lift himself by his own self alone, and let him not lower himself.For, this self alone is the friend of oneself and this self is the only enemy of oneself.
