Searching For You Poem by Josh Burnett

Searching For You

I run around in circles chasing the only thing that I know to be right.
I jump up and down and run all around looking for you up and down.
But everytime I spot the back of your head I watch you turn into that corner.
I walk right up to where you stood, look around the corner, and you're never there.
I step out of the shadows as I wonder just where you could have gone.
I run down through the void looking from left to right but you can't be seen.
And just when I lose all hope of trying to find you.
I feel two soft hands wrapping around my chest.
I don't want to leave this state of mind.
If feels so great with you standing by my side.
I don't ever want to hear those words whispering in my ear, It's all over.
I find my true peace of harmony when I feel your hand grabbing mine.
Why don't you jsut want to say I'll be with you forever.
Because you're the one I want in my life.
I've been searching for you for way too long,
And it's about that time I started feeling alright.
If you could only see what you're doing to me.
You wouldn't walk out of my life.
You would always be standing there right by my side.
I dreamed of you once again last night,
And as I woke up a tear escaped from my eye.
I hope that you find the time of your life.
Even if it's without me.
I hope you get everything that you want and need,
And I hope in those times you'll stop.
Every once in a while and think of me.
