Shades Of Life Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

Shades Of Life

Rating: 5.0

How can one be so blind
As not to see
The rays of hope
Shining through
The engulfing darkness?

Is the burden of grief
So great
As to make one forget
The days of happiness
One was blessed with?

Will it not be unfair then
To curse fate
For all the ills
And not bless it
For all the gifts?

To each of us is given
Joy and grief
In equal measures
How can we accept one
And reject the other?
