Deep in a glacial blue abyss
An eerie light will shine,
And o’er the blazing desert sands
A burning sun will climb;
A haunting cry will echo down
The spiral halls of time:
SHELL-Shock,
...Shell-shock,
......Shell-shock.
A bouncing ball upon a cog
Each time will labored lift
Until it can arise no more
To writhe in tortured twist
And dies to silently implore,
What world and who is this?
SHELL-Shock,
...Shell-shock,
......Shell-shock.
Bingo! Though I drew inspiration from the poet yet I am clueless to guess what inspired the poet. However, shell-shock rhyme is euphonious. May be Big Walrus sky has inspired the poet! A great poem to ponder on! It's worth of reading! My I invite you to read my limerick Gee! In The Woods, Bulbuls And Orioles Fly (Limerick-14)
Intricate and instinctive though....its very poignant write
This is very intriguing, and deep; tell us more! tell us more! I love mysteries of the soul... ...tell us more...

I was drawn to this poem by your remarks on today's Modern Poet. I must say your poem is many times better than his, which has a surprisingly high rating. Judging by your poem I would think Considerations about Consciousness and memory play a big part in your writing. The images are stunning, especially in the first Stanza. I think I'd better explore your work a little more to make sure I'm not on a totally wrong track! Anyway this a ten and you're going on my favourite poets' list so that I don't forget to look at your other work Tom Billsborough
