Sky-Line Poem by Laquory Jones

Sky-Line

I spread my wings and begin to fly
Against the sky-line with its stars
Shining ultra bright something within me
Tells me to just take the flight
I breathe taking in the lucious sights
Blazing a trail of fire in my wake
As I pass the salty lakes I see my own
Reflections taking shape my life's mirror
It's my progress of my life in different states
Only to remind me of my past mistakes
But each scar helping me to elevate
Motivating me to keep going no matter the stakes
Some things in life we will never shake
Perhaps in due time it might just evaporate
As the struggles dissolves under the heavy
Weight the trick is to never lose your faith
