Someone Else's Dream Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Someone Else's Dream

Why do you allow her back
After she's shown you who
She is.
Her motives have become
The foundation of her makeup.
When you're down she's nowhere
To be found,
Tolerance has nothing to do
With the question
She's only there for the benefits,
Can't you see,
She's handed you the scissors
After she's cut you into a paper
mache & spread you across
Her purse.
Why do you allow yourself
To dream someone else's dream.
I understand that with everyday
It gets harder to let go.
She can be all of that & more.
Having bad luck is still luck
To be found.
But while she is your weakness
She is providing someone else
The same strength that you
Provide to her. Can't you see,
Why do you continue to let yourself
Dream someone else's dream
