Songs We Sing Poem by Darwin Henry Beuning

Songs We Sing

Rating: 5.0

The greatest gift,
God above gave mankind,
The Gift of Song.

Songs -
Which brighten the long days,
And the dark nights.

Songs -
Which bring joy to young and old,
From the once a year,
"Happy Birthday"
To -
"Auld Lang Syne"
Sung by masses on New Years Eve.

Also, songs to lighten the heart,
Like, "Bingo Was His Name-O".

Most important,
Songs we sing at Worship Services.
Praising the Lord.

Songs mean a great deal to me, on CDs and videos. I can't get enough of Bob Dylan's latest songs- 'Duquesne Whistle', 'Thunder On The mountain', many others. I like some hymns too, but not all.
