Sonnet - For My Mother On Mother's Day
To you I owe this life I have today
Oh mother dear who was so very kind
Your love has led me to a brighter way
To live a life of dignity in mind
My eyes were opened through your loving hands
Lighted the path I walked on as a child
Taught me the ways to live in full command
Of my life, when I'm no longer a child
You instilled in me values of import
That have guided my life through all the years
To rise above in every life's discord
To take life's challenges and face my fears
Mother, I'm forever grateful to you
For giving me life, for your love so true

One of the best and most beautifully moving poems for a mother I have ever read! So very complete in love and sentiments. I am sure you were as good a daughter to her as she was a mother to you. And that you gave her much happiness and love too, as most good daughter's do.
