Spare The Rod Poem by Michael Gale

Spare The Rod

Rating: 5.0

The teenage years are full of many a
thought, They can be deceitful like liars,
that constantly get caught! Drugs and booze
are what is desired, When in truth
discipline should be what is required! The
spoiling of them, when they were so much
younger, They should have been sent to bed
without dinner, as punishment, so they would
suffer with hunger! Respect for parents is
rare indeed, Some parents might say, that
that is a point that is hard to concede!
Parents should'nt leave for over night, For
if when they come back to a messy house,
due to partying and a fight! Spare the rod,
and spoil the child, Will guaranty that
they will grow up to be rude and wild!

This poem I respectfully disagree with you. Children do not belong to their parents. they are God's children. The parents job is to raise their children the way they believe is right. however to listen very intently to what they are trying to say. this theory was proven in the ' 60's with the generation gap. Never lay down the law. Their is no right way to raise children, only the best way. ' Life may have no meaning, Or even worst, it may have a meaning of which I dissaprove.' Ashleigh Brillient
