Spend The Afternoon With You - Poem by Michael P. McParland

It will soon be noon here my sweet dear
and how I wish I could spend it with you.
In an hour and a half I will finally go shopping
and pick up most of the last of my Christmas items
as well as some groceries to be able
to fill my medium to just over medium sized belly
and perhaps but unlikely go to lunch too
and how I wish I could spend all of that time with you
walking along hand in hand feeling cozy and warm.
I wish I could spend the afternoon with my love
ignoring the crowds and not worrying about anxieties hells.

How I wish I could spend the afternoon holding hands
and just looking at you both of us smiling away,
sharing the looks of love that I remember
and feel so very well deep down in my heart and soul
and taking in all the joy that you my dear Angel
bring into my life and the lightness I feel.
I wish I could spend this afternoon with my
very best and beautiful friend just having fun
while getting some necessities done.

I will be with you though is spirit
and filling you with warm reassurance,
praying that next year we can do this Christmas
shopping together and spend our afternoons
happier and more complete than ever
sharing kisses and forgetting the world around us.
I wish you were here my sweet darling to
be with right now kissing and snuggling
and very shortly hand in hand shopping.
I will be thinking of you and sending all of my warmth and loving
so listen closely for my hearts loud and clear callings.
I love you Kira and can't wait for our time
of true happiness and calming where I will just
give you kisses, hugs, and smiles telling you thank you my dear
you are the most beautiful blessing and Angel
I could have ever dreamed of and hoped for.
