Squeezed Tails Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Squeezed Tails

Now...
They come.
More with their squeezed tails.
Looking like pets humiliated.
And realizing a loyalty kept,
Only had them brutalized.
With a leaving their integrities gone.
Erased.

Now they come,
With opened eyes and grief to share.
But they were the ones trained to bark,
And not aware...
Of should should beware.

They were warned to stay away.
And not to learn,
Wicked tricks.
They were warned to stay away.
But couldn't resist,
The charm of a misfit.

Fed to feed on deceit.
And munching on delusions of grandeur.
Fed to feed on deceit.
And a frauding of a status to believe,
Exclusively together...
Heights of power they would reach.

Now that power of those lies are squeezed.
Between their thighs.
Like pets.
Disgraced.
And humiliated with heads dropped.
Biting back the hand that taught them,
How to deceive.
Hoping one day a forgiveness to receive.
From those made to live lives deep in grief.

But...
What does loyalty betrayed,
Return these days?
What is that price to pay,
To learn and teach deception.
What is that price to pay,
To feed on a feast of corruption!
