St Kabeer's Couplets On Experience: 57 the Joy Of Self-Realization

Rating: 5.0

If one were asked to explain
How and what, self when you attain—
The feeling that from within flows,
Alas, rare be the man that knows.

Given below is the original couplet in Hindi along with its transliteration in English Roman.

आतम अनुभव सुख की, जो कोई पुछै बात,
कई जो कोई जानयी कोई अपनो की गात ।
Ātam anubhav sukh kī jo koī pućhai bāt,
Kaī jo koī jānayī koī apano kī gāt.

If someone asks about the joy of self-realization, it is hard to explain. One has to experience it on his own, by self efforts and deeds. Mother only knows the birth pain, so painful and still so pleasant!

Topic: soul, joy,
