# Starry Night Poem by Sonya Florentino

# Starry Night

Rating: 5.0

To dream
What for
Disappointment on hold
Life unfolds
Another star falls
On my lap

Another one that didn’t last
Quickly turning into dust
So fast
The dream
The star
Was all it was, dust

What more follows
The night sky still sparkles
Beckoning, inviting
Promising tomorrow
Another star
A billion more
For sorrow

Sometimes you reach for the stars and you only need to touch the special one for heaven to open. A very sad write of broken dreams..........

Beautiful, Sonya. And so genuine. Your last stanza lingers in the mind. Warm regards, Sandra

I knew I would love Starry Night by the title. You have written it with simply beautiful imagery and it flows like magic. 'Another star falls on my lap' did it for me. Top marks Karin Anderson
