Stitches Of Love - Poem by Donna G Fowler

Stitch in line, it will save you time, or so my grandma said
She sewed her quilts all by hand, to place upon her bed
All the colors you can imagine were placed side by side
Circle by circle, square by square, each stitch her needle did hide

From “Irish Hearts” to “Around the World” you sewed each stitch with love
From “Drunkards Path” to “Log Cabin” quilts sent from heaven above
The “Sampler quilts” and “Noah’s Ark“, showed how you loved to sew
And sent a message to all those around, as your quilts began to grow

Oh how I miss those special times we sat around and talked
Or times we went shopping for 100 % cotton made in bulk
If I could ask the Lord for one special gift, that gift would be for you
To come back to me just one more time and do a quilt or two
