Sunrise On Sunday At Kitty Hawk-Outer Banks Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Sunrise On Sunday At Kitty Hawk-Outer Banks

Rating: 2.8

So beautiful is this Sunday morning sky
It's now 7AM but there are few people near waterline.
One lady gently walks her little dog
Some people spread their footsteps along the edge of ocean blue.
Resting quietly, few surfers lie on their back.
Are they resting or waiting for more powerful waves?
Successive waves of blue ocean unceasingly break against shoreline.
Skimming over water surface, in small groups, pelicans fly.
Straight like arrows, seagulls shoot across the sky.
Near hotel swimming pool, crows search for their breakfast.
Few patches of gray clouds hang low over far horizon.
White light chases ocean waves breaking at shoreline.
Inhaling salty fresh air, I enjoy watching blue sky
Ocean breakers and coming waves continue singing their oceanic lullabies.

English Translation Of The Vietnamese Poem Of NHIEN NGUYEN MD:

BÌNH MINH SÁNG CHỦ NHẬT Ở KITTY HAWK-OUTER BANKS

Sá́ng nay, chủ̉ nhậ̣t, đẹp trời
Bẩy giờ, bãi biển mấy người mà thôi.
Một bà dẫn chó đi chơi
Vài người thả bước bên bờ nước xanh.
Mấy người trượt nước yên nằm
Họ nằm đây nghỉ, hay cần sóng to?
Biển xanh, sóng nước vỗ bờ
Là là mặt nước, bồ-nông từng đàn.
Hải âu vụt cánh bay nhanh
Bên hồ khách sạn, quạ nào kiếm ăn.
Chân trời, mây xám lưa thưa
Đuổi nhau, nắng trắng, nước xanh vỗ bờ.
Tôi ngồi, thở khí biển thơm
Trời xanh, bọt trắng, sóng vờn, nhạc ru.
