Sweet Dreams Of Youth Poem by Sandra Feldman

Sweet Dreams Of Youth

Rating: 5.0

As a child,
I wanted to grab
The Moon and go
For a ride,
Inside the sky
(Hey, diddle, diddle
the cat and the fiddle,
the cow jumped over the moon)
One of my favorite,
Nursery Rhymes
I also wanted to play ball
With the planets
And see what there was,
Inside,
I suppose that was
My short lived, Astronaut side,
Also wanted to Fraternize,
With roses and birds,
Nature's honey slide
Being a child,
With all the hopes
And dreams, to come.
But youth is wasted on youth
And when wisdom comes,
We no longer have the Time
Or strength,
To carry out,
The dreams of our
Fast wasted
And never returning
Sweet dreaming, youth,
And that, dear friends,
Is one of Life's
Most repeated Truths!
