C-ome take a shine to dawn,
R-ise of the sun has begun;
E-agerly like the glow
S-haring the warmth and fun.
T-ake a shine to dawn,
I-n early morning light;
L-et the beacon leave
Y-our bad dream in the
N-ight.

E-arnestly take a shine to dawn,
N-ever dislike the break of day;
D-eny the dusky twilight,
R-emain not in the gray.
I-n spite of the dark sky,
N-ew hope is not gone;
A-ugust twenty-fourth Thursday, take a shine to dawn.
