Tell Me What Is It Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Tell Me What Is It

Can you tell me what is it.
That you yet haven't had enough.
With your ears to hear and listen.
And not imagine what your eyes looking up.
Can you,
Tell me what it is.
Keeping you deluded to refuse.
Keeping you deluded to deny.
Keeping you disbelieving what is truth.

Lower your nose.
And get a sniff of reality.
Hmmm.
Hmmm.
Lower your nose.
And give up your pretensions to leave.
Because...
Coming for you is a change.
That maybe tough.
Coming for you.
That maybe rough.
Coming for you is a change.
That maybe tough.
Coming for you.

Can you tell me what it is,
Keeping you in fantasyland.
Keeping you seeking cotton candy.
Wherever you can.
Because...
Coming for you is a change.
That maybe tough.
Coming for you.
That maybe rough.
Coming for you is a change.
That maybe tough.
Coming for you.

Can you...
Tell me what it is,
Keeping you deluded to refuse.
Keeping you deluded to deny.
Keeping you disbelieving what is true!
To not give up.
