Temporary Fix Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Temporary Fix

I have waited, and waited.
I am not perfect in the least.
I have loved you the best way I could.
To assure that the smile I gave, always appears on your face.
In the end.
To hear that its not enough.
That you feel that there is someone else.
Almost like you expect it.
Constantly looking around when I have never left your side.
The pressures of staying sane while looking in your eyes.
The rants of when the slightest thing goes wrong.
I am the one to blame.
I am not perfect in the least.
Finding different ways to be myself whenever you look in my eyes.
Knowing that deep down
This is nothing of how I thought it would be.
Cutting pieces of myself to avoid an argument over anything.
You've hurt me.
When I looked to you to be my remedy for anything
I have waited, and waited.
To meet someone like you.
Its like staring in the mirror but not.
When the light hits your eyes.
I can see that I am a temporary fix
When the night takes over
And the sun is no where to be found.
A double standard of the lights that flicker on and off.
It's all the same when the lights go off.
A temporary fix for the time being
