Kansas Johnson

Thank You - Poem by Kansas Johnson

A letter to a soldier
The address is unknown
I hope this note will get to you
I pray you'll come back home

Thank you sir for fighting
For all you've done for me
Thank you sir for helping
To keep our country free

Thank you for your time spent
For risking all your lives
For leaving all your children
Your parents and your wives

I wrote to say I'm thankful
Please know you have a friend
This has been a letter
From your fellow American
