Thanks Again - Poem by Shayne JayTrain

I admit I fought like crazy
I admit I said no way
I admit I wanted nothing more
Than just to seize the day

Given Morals
Needed knowledge
You even gave me fear
From what could crush my dreams forever
You sure made pretty clear

I look back at what you taught me
My eyes full of love filled tears
At the thought of how you love me
Both now and younger years

I may not see your reason
Or have faith in what's above
I may not even understand
Why what's loved by you is loved

As time goes by I see new things
And reference what was said
Even down to all your mannerisms
Vividly running through my head

You can't have known I'd put this forward
To as much as I've applied
I made the road I chose to take
Though at times made you cry

You can't have even known for fact
I'd consider your words once said
I saw what I wanted
I saw what I needed
I regret mistakes once made

I don't know how you did it
Or think I need to know
For what you taught me
Made me hope
to one day teach my own
