That One That Got Away

remember them nights
where we looked up at the stars?
we talked about life
like it was so hard
do you recall
when i kissed you on that bench?
a magical moment
its one that i will miss
i tried to be your guy
but you never gave a chance
i wanted you for you
not to get inside your pants
the other guys they liked you
but not as much as me
i tried so hard to show you
but somehow you couldnt see
wild and restless
was how i used to be
do i have branches in my hair? ?
how you laughed so hard at me
after work id see you
and id smile so damn wide
we would go and build a campfire
up on that mountainside
some nights we'd hit the lake
and just chill out on the dam
if i wasnt so damn shy
i wouldve held your hand
but time has passed us since
so we went our seperate way
but ill always remeber you amanda
that one that got away.
