The Alpha Female Writes In Her Diary Poem by Julia Luber

The Alpha Female Writes In Her Diary

And in the Aftermath of this wild and great mythical beast,
the alpha female film maker director escapes into her diary for some peace.
She just no long truly really feels like her great self anymore-in control,
in directorial grace, in power with her name on the door.

But the door's been in the woods, on the farm, round and abouttown,
wherever the crime was, whatever cretin nefarious gangsters were around.
But being in the wake of a vicious mythical monster is just not the same.
In being human too, she could see right through their criminal game.

But a monster has no rules of being human in its nature,
one can't put on an act, use stylized deception to discover,
kind of simply, date her. Sure our director would use all
the tricks in the book. Investigating Human crime/ butter to a cook.

But this was the monster's territory. She had no power nor control
over what it is the people would later see. She could not write this script,
she could not expose this beast. Not knowing its size was not the problem
in the least. Mercurial and twisted, what power had Creation invested?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The director of the saga series might be able to hold a candle to human criminals and can concoct expository crime shows, but she is powerless when it comes to dealing with this mythical monster, and so retreats into writing in her diary.

The world is a foreboding place to carve out a living, especially when the living specters make mockery of reality by taking the stage for a scene or two knowing their reality does not transcend so they pretend to be real thinking there is no difference.

Your comment tends to focus on the deception aspect of this poem; which is good because there you expose that such can not take over true reality. Thanks for reading and responding.

I am actually not the alpha female this is about. This poem I wrote is about a character in a novel I wrote. I am trying to write poems to go with the books. But thanks for clarifying what oppugnant means.
