The Army - Poem by DONOVAN WRIGHT

What is the Army?
Was it instituted to drive people mad and crazy?
Or is it there to secure the well being of the people of this country

It all starts with Basic Training
Through Hardships and rough roads we get the meaning
Yet this builds mental and physical endurance
Confident when we tackle our tasks, success will be an assurance

They put us down in the Front Leaning Rest
To build stature so we can pass the test
Everyday in the morn we rise
To see the rising sun, the beauty we ignored to realize

All dressed up for the morning drill
The joy and laughter fades as we are still
All above us get their due respect
Their skill and knowledge makes them select

Will the Army for a lifetime yet prevail?
So peace and equality in the World may avail.....
