The Black Man In America Poem by Craig Mize

The Black Man In America

Rating: 5.0

WE face limitations placed upon us,
Simply because of our skin pigmentations.
We feel the hate of a nation
Looking down on us during silent demonstrations.
But our heads is still high in the sky like clouds.
If only Malcolm, Martin, and Medgar could look at us now.
The chains, lynching's, and beatings couldn't hold us down;
The pride of our ancestors is to profound.
Their heart beat is our heart beat,
Their lungs is ours. So when we breathe they breathe.
Deep breath inhale, exhale now at ease.

We the black men in America
Needs to break all these racial stereotypes,
Stand up against oppressions no matter how hard the fight.
Take back our neighborhoods, cities, and towns.
Erase the narrative that black fathers aren't ever around.
At all cost protect our black women, mothers, and daughters.
Set our goals to reach the north star and do our damnest to go further
To be a black man in America is not easy,
But there is one thing we must always believe.
We come from Kings and Queens,
Don't let no one tell you differently by any means.
