The Chateau Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Chateau

Rating: 5.0

In the autumn's light, the chateau glows
Until the darkness takes over
And then, we kiss that eternal kiss
While the night falls into a million stars
And the moon's blue light falls onto yr face
Revealing the sadness you are trying to hide
The French countryside is silent
Though the sound of the cricket's song is
Echoing a lullaby
And the air is filled with the scent of lavender
Like a warm bath, we drift into a slumber
With dreams of adoration
Into the deep sound of stillness
Until the morning's awakening
Knowing we have to depart
We hold to the dream of grasping
Each other's heart
