The Dancer Becomes The Dance. - Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

Forget the dancer.
Kill ego.
Go to the core of ego.
Become humble.
Break the ego.
And then you can
become the dance.

The dancer becomes the dance.
Call it prayer, meditation or
contemplation, whatever.

The dancer becomes the dance.

I like the sentiment but your expression of it is superb. I concentrate most of my attention on the expression of it because you can have excellent ideas but it doesn't always rise to poetry. This does. (Report)Reply

We, the audience, should not forget the dancer, because the dancer works very hard to achieve excellence. However, I do agree that the dancer should be humble, put the ego down, and become the dance- - Concentrating on the dance itself, and not on winning accolades for herself or himself.
A very good poem which makes a very good point!

A powerful poem Tony. At first read a stab of guilt... EGO! ! ! OH to be so human to have those drives to succeed, accumulate wealth, health, power and glory...Hmm... Much contemplation later I realise I'm hopeless at meditation.loved it! ! ! 10+ (Report)Reply

    Hi Dr. Antony

Loved your expression. Kill your ego, that stands out above your work, your art, so that your heart comes to the fore. Your art, whether it is dance or poetry, manifests itself, expresses itself. Meaningful write.10.

This poem is a profound observation. Once you set aside the ego and the habitual thinker in you, then you are done. You are one with everything - not only dance but the mother-in-law and innumerable other things in life with which you find it difficult to gel. Then you are everything. Great write.
