The Great Motherboard Poem by Valsa George

The Great Motherboard

Rating: 5.0

How the human brain
Like a mammoth mother board
Assimilates and stores up impressions
Some sad, some joyful
Some daunting, some frightful
Some difficult to decipher and decode
Heap on heap, they pile.
Through recollections, vague or vivid,
Dreams, words and thoughts,
One time or other, they reel back and forth
As on a computer screen
Some deleted forever, some etched deep
Some irrecoverably lost
Some able to be retrieved
Some mouldy, sending out a stale smell
Some spreading a fresh aroma
Delectable to the senses
Some filling us with a zest to live
Some making our eyes swell

But without them
How vacuous human life
How hollow….how banal!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

If converted into pure machinery, human brain will occupy a seven storied building, science says. Its thoughts are innumerable, its prowess is immeasurable and its catch regime is universal. But we use the same for foul thoughts and selfish goals.. We use it for fantasasing things unreasonable unlike the species of lower strata. The title is quite SUPERB!

Yes, the human brain is so like a computer, but with the added dimension of emotion which a computer can never have. A very clever write.

It all happens due to brain and the poor heart is blamed for all, sometimes exchanged sometimes broken and sometimes ignore. You too advise your pupils to learn your lessons by heart.

In the cutting age Science and Technology, a contemporary poet is supposed to have, ‘The Great Motherboard’ as your title suggests! True spirit of a natural poet is neatly reflected in this fabulous poem, scintillating imagination, realistic expression as a poet loves to imagine: “Through recollections, vague or vivid/Dreams, words and thoughts/One time or other, they reel back and forth”. Loved reading this poem! (10)

Yes, no one knows the heart of anyone; whether one is for peace or, for war! Nice piece of work.
