POEM NUMBER 800
this morning I walk along a river
that transports clean running water.
I look up at the mountains, cool with a chilly look.
what a contrast this morning walk gives me.
I do not hesitate in my own country,
but in a country that is still strange to me: abroad,
one of the few countries with clean air and clean waters,
where people are naturally friendly, not forced
the people are not hungry here,
there is no poverty, no air pollution
but I have only seen one church: The Grace Church
towering subservient to all houses and buildings,
yet this sacred building has something lonely and deserted,
in an overgrown landscape that radiates fertility,
food for thought is this short essay.
From: one of my walks in Mae Sot,
the place designated by God.
Sylvia, Yes Thailand is a wonderful place to visit. My wife's family live in Nakhon Sawan and we visit them often. Mae Sot is s district in western Thailand that shares a border with Myanmar to the west. The town is part of TAK Province. About 120,000 people inhabit Mae Sot with 100,000 being Burmese.
Indeed there are more Burmese inhabitants in Mae Sot town than the original Thai, but they are all with the same friendliness and hospitality. Thank you so much for the precious information, Darwin. Yes, this town lies in the TAK Province. In most houses I see oft the photograph of the late King.

Where there are too many places for worship, may be churches, temples or mosques, where there are so many scholars of a religion, humanity is talked more but not practiced. Why?
Indeed, Akhtar Sir, you are absolutely right. Thank you so much that you have thought and responded Your meaning does mean so much to me. God's Blessings!
