The Insomniac Heart Poem by Matthew Holloway

The Insomniac Heart

Rating: 5.0

In amongst the sleepless hour
Where a pensive thought persists
Where are you my hearts companion
To aid me to a peaceful sleep
Time tortures the tired mind
And all my thoughts are of you
Silently I hold off tears
I miss you, wish you were here
I lay awake staring into nothing
Imagine what a conversation with you
Could do to ease my worried heart
Sleepless in all its anxiety
My heart and I wait for you
And waiting seems eternal
As though to never end
A sleepless heart and a restless mind
And my thoughts are of you
I miss you, I need you
Love you
