The Inevitable Poem by Matthew Holloway

The Inevitable

A recurring dream persists
Perhaps with a few variant endings
The joyous and the sad
The hero and the villain
A warrior's fate could be predestined
And such dreams a warning
That such a day is soon to come
It is then, as such inevitable
Unable to run, hide, escape
Haunting at time such dreams may be
Almost real as though to be believed
Some dreams persist, a subconscious point
A roleplay, scripted scene playing out
Again and again and again never ending
The persistence of such a thought, dream
The repetition it draws into the very being
What it is and what it will be, in truth
Is the undying thought, a destiny
The inevitable
