The Journey To The Self Poem by Preston Mwiinga

The Journey To The Self

A good person in the world is akin to a soul in the body. Even if you cannot muster the strength or inclination to love others as yourself, at the very least, treat them with kindness and decency. It's important to recognize that while you may not be able to love everybody, you can still show respect to all.

Life inevitably presents us with challenges and competition, which serve as catalysts for mental growth and creativity. Rather than allowing pride to become a source of strength, acknowledge it as a weakness that requires daily vigilance.

Death, the inevitable conclusion of life, underscores the importance of maintaining a sense of purpose and direction. Remember, no one exists outside the realm of God's kingdom; our connection with God and others hinges on our active participation.

Love cannot exist without responsibility, and it's our fundamental duty to earnestly seek and understand the voice of the divine in our lives. Arguing with those outside our sphere of expertise is fruitless; instead, focus on making efforts and embracing opportunities.

Fortune favors those who work diligently, and while following the will of God may be challenging, deviating from it leads to chaos. Every sacrifice yields a reward, and growth demands effort.

Strive for peace, especially within yourself, and remember that freedom is granted to those who wield it selflessly. Personal relationships require careful consideration and effort, as regretting past mistakes only perpetuates them.

Love should be freely given, not demanded, and disappointments are inevitable in human interactions. Aging merely solidifies one's character, and fear must be continuously confronted.

Self-esteem stems from personal conviction and the freedom to choose, emphasizing the importance of both speaking and listening in communication. Cherish your partner out of desire, not obligation, and understand that everyone is capable of fallibility.

Life unfolds like a story, beginning with a need and concluding once that need is fulfilled. Embrace the journey, learning and growing along the way
