The Kid Poem by Laquory Jones

The Kid

I bend my knees and begin to pray
For a better day what to say if you
Knew me when I was eight would you
Have said that boy would be
Okay even though the kid struggled
basically every day nothing really
Went his way but living life isn't
About the okays it is about making a
Difference then going on your
Way hundreds of People will shape
His mind then begin to redefine an
Center-line that once divided people
In ad-mist of time But he doesn't know
It yet You would laugh at him I bet
But somehow he holds the key mentally
Trying to figure out what he will be in
Ad-mist of his dreams he repeatedly sees
Humbled beginnings while he's stumbling
Trying to make himself better than an
Centipede that people around him sees
I will change the world is what he decrees
So when you see him on bent knees
His Mind is never at ease as he hears the
Wind against the trees swaying minds as
each songbird begins to sing this is what
He sees bumble bees as they linger hitting
Him with stingers it never happened to him
But this is what he saw as his mind of thought
Began to claw thinking wasn't taught it's a
Gift bestowed while trying to let at least
Some intelligence show but people kept
Telling him what he didn't know so the pain
Began to grow as he grew he began to
Stew behind the greater good tears would
Begin to fall through the silenced halls
People really have the gall to tear you
Out spilling with doubt so he begins to
Shout I will figure this out some day the
World will listen to me and come to terms
With what was meant to be You don't get it the
Little boy was me And there are a lot of
People like me bound to one day change
History By the centuries I decree.
