The Last Train Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

The Last Train

Rating: 5.0

I wanted to catch
The last train,
So I went to the nearby station,
I was alone there,
I waited and waited eagerly
For the last train,
But the train did not come,
After a long time,
An old and pale vagabond appeared
In front of me,
Being anxious, I asked him,
"When will the last train come here? "
The vagabond laughed at me
And then said in a gruff voice,
"You have arrived in the wrong station,
The last train will never come here."

I guess we readers are left to our own conclusions. ;)

An interesting poem indeed. It underscores your skill as a story-teller who knows his craft perfectly well. There is suspense and a mysterious end to the narrative. The reader is left with not one but umpteenth choices. Thanks.

It also reminded me the song " Gadi Bula rahi hai seeti baja rahi hai.....Aate hain log jate hain log, paani ke jaise rele jane ke baad aate hai yaad guzre hue woh mele yaadein mita rahi hain, yaadein bana rahi hai.........

Yes very true, the train of this life will continue like this, some will board and some will alight but the train and it's journey will continue till eternity.10**
