Leaf is a gloomy sister of the bright sunlight,
As guardian of flowers, delighted in that.
Rough or smooth, in heart never tough,
Like scent to a flower, that's quite enough.
Virtue makes the man, likewise feathers a bird,
Leaf makes a plant different. It truly provides
Enough, to nurse blooms. So no need now to ask
Repeatedly in brief: which is fairer, flower or leaf?
Petals may have been constantly pursued,
Yet leaves are nature's innermost mood.
Flowers belong to the day, like glamour of stage show
But leaf dwells in my heart, where secrets go.
