Puck was a happy court jester of short stature
He did his work well
But he fell in love
With a noblewoman named Elinor
And that would be his downfall
She was a noblewoman of great beauty
And saw Puck many a time
Doing his work very well
When Puck decided to profess his love to Elinor
And asked for her hand
Without reason, she said no
Betrayed by this rejection,
Puck took his own life
Hanging from the tower with a broken heart
His body swung in the rain
Haunted by the rejection
The ghost of the saddened court jester
Wanders through the hallways of an Irish castle
Waiting for its one true love to arrive
As it wanders through the centuries alone
Excellent story, well told. That's why I never go to old castles, especially Irish castles, perhaps is ghost Puck still waiting, very eerie! 5 Stars for the impressive story.
A sad story of unreciprocated love, how disastrous for poor Puck. But I would gather their were plenty of other woman who found him marvelous. However, he had his heart set on just one.
Hi LeeAnn, lovely poem on the legend of Puck and Elinor. The image of the soul "wandering through the centuries' is soooo exquisite. Five 🌟
