Once an old man advised:
' Write as a poet
but do not live - as a poet
otherwise
how will you bear the cruelty of loved ones
and the betrayal of friends'
Ah… alas!
When the breeze of poetry blows
you forget the disaster of hurricanes
Creativity/Poetry is an intoxicating refuge and we are entirely consumed by the beauty of the moment, naively forgetting that life itself is capable of delivering destruction. Art can heal and elevate us but but it cannot shield us from harshness of life. A great poem.
A captivating poem with a moral lesson and a great warning. What a well crafted poem that begins with a striking and very perceptive advice. A brilliant closing stanza that shifts the tone of the poem into philosophical style by juxtaposition. To my favorites
'Ah… alas! When the breeze of poetry blows you forget the disaster of hurricanes'---when has truth ever been spoken more clearly and more beautifully? stunning piece of writing--50000000000000 stars
