The Love Of A Mother Poem by Laquory Jones

The Love Of A Mother

Rating: 4.5

The love a mother has for her son is ultra strong
Sweet Naya I can't believe that you're gone
Oh now Richie you finally
Write her a song I know but I wanted to
Write one that did her justice
So young and full of glee
She rescued her son from the water's edge
Taking a plunge not knowing she would
Sink to her death she had so much potential
And energy giving her life so her son can
Live how many of us are willing to make
That sacrifice that's more than some are
Willing to give I won't forget her memory
Even though all of it is bitter-sweet
I know you're looking down full of glee
Smiling so vibrantly
Even though today we silently weep
At your passing we know your love
Will be forever everlasting

Rest in peace to Naya Rivera
She was found today went missing
A few days ago they said a couple
Found her son sleeping on a boat
He said his mom went for a swim
And never came back up I almost
Threw up I was hoping that she
Would be found alive but it wasn't
To be deep down in my gut
I knew that perhaps that
she would be found deceased
Even before the Police statements
& all had released but it still doesn't
Erase the grief nor ease the pain
Of the family having to explain
To a four year old that the mother
Has gone to heaven for all eternity

Even that eats me up mentally
2020 has been filled with so many
Fatalities tell me when will it cease
Candle lighting for everyone
Whose lost family, friends, Lovers,
Husbands, or Wives to be
Keep those embers strong
I know we'll find a silver lining
