The Mirror Inside Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

The Mirror Inside

Rating: 5.0

This portrait
Does it wink at me?
Laugh at me, ridicule me over its eyes?

The guy there in the portrait
He wasn't ever kind to me!

I felt a bit uneasy,
Standing up, walked towards the window
Pulled aside the curtains

Moving back I sat on the sofa
More light in the room
More fresh air in...

I felt more at ease
It brought a smile to my face

I watched the portrait once again

I felt it was smiling at me this time!

More openness, more ventilation

More insight

The mirror was inside my mind
Now dust-free
Veil-free too!
