The Most Powerful Of Songs Aren'T Meant To Be Sung

I've been doing the same thing since I was little. Gather a little one-lined tune in my head, and I can go on singing for hours. The only downside? I'm way too shy to sing them to anybody. The upside? They become much more powerful to me when I don't have the inhibitions of attempting to sugar-coat or impress anybody.

So here it is:

A Song For You That You Will Never Hear

You said you'd never see me cry,
well now I know
that when tears ran down my cheek,
you turned your own.
And though it hurts to say goodbye,
you'll never know
because I'm much too proud
to cry out loud.

And when you walk by,
I will look you in the eye and I will smile.
Everybody tells white lies once-in-a-while.

Although it hurts me so,
I've got to let you go.
And just to see you smile,
well, I'd give anything.

And watching you walk away
is gonna be the hardest thing I'll ever have to do.
By now, you've said all that you had to say to me.
Just let it be
and smile for me my love,
my love.
