The Quest Poem by Driss Ezzireg

The Quest

Rating: 5.0

A brave little fish flew out of water
And dived straight into the sky
He gasped as he hit the icy air
And drowned before he knew why.
A bird sang all day long like hell;
His singing was an annoyance to many.
Though voiceless when night fell
He felt the happiest bird if any.
A tree tired of being lonely
Sawed her trunk when she got drunk.
She longed to be real free
And have some little, good company.
Desires and envies can drive us mad
Drive us to happiness or to being sad
The lot, for certain, can never be guessed
But strong is the drive and worthy the quest!
