The Question - Poem by Venus Lanaux
We never had a formal relationship
We sort of just sat around wondering what if...
What if we had walked for just one more hour,
What if we had gotten caught together in that rain shower,
What if instead of talking about other people and cars,
We said what was really on those minds of ours?
What if we said all that we thought to say?
What if you hadn't moved so damned far away?
Time has gone by, and we've both matured,
Thoughts have obtained voice and the plan has been secured
To change the conversational flow
From what we're covering with to what we both need to know.
The question: From here, where do we go?
