The Reason - Poem by Sharla Murrill

First thing I would like to say is Happy Holidays.
A time of happiness and cheer.
Snowflakes and icicles are known this time of year.
Most people decorate for this certain occasion.
Some people enjoy good conversation;
Children are excited and can't sleep.
Trying to peak to see Santa place gifts under the tree.
Families come together filled with Christmas cheer. Eating together telling stories like
“Do you remember when? '
It's sad when you think of the people that have no where to go on Christmas, with nothing to eat.
Living in shelters and committing crimes,
Incarcerated for heat.
Alot of people don't know the real meaning of Christmas.
The Holy meaning of Christmas.
The day our Lord and Savior was born.
'Oh Holy Night' was the song of his birth.
The son of Heaven and Earth.
So we thank God for each and every year that he brings,
So that we can remember the real meaning of Christmas and why the sleigh bells ring.
So prepare yourself for Santa and his deer,
Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year.
