The River Must Flow Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

The River Must Flow

Rating: 5.0

From the lofty height
Of the mountains the
Slender string of water
Races downwards taking
All the rubbles in its tow;
It swells into a mighty river
And ahead it must flow.

It cuts the stones
Polishes the sides
Water the arid lands
In summer it shrinks and
In rain it rapidly grows;
To fall into a sea and get
Lost ahead it must flow.

It glazes in the light
Of the sun and tarries a
While at the lap of hills
To feed the land and
Makes its movement slow;
To make trade and commerce
Flourish the river should not
Stop and it must continuously flow.

Rivers used to be the blood vessels of the economy, before steam engines and oil engines made trains and automobiles possible. True narrative. Beautiful poem.5 *s
