mohabat k mazay tere ghar main lenay k liyay
main saDak pe chali ja rahee thee
nukaD maiN main ne dekha ek bheekhaaran ko.

us ka haath main ne apne haath me le liya
us k gaaloN ko main ne komalata se choom liya
us se baat-cheet ki
andar se vo mere hi jaisi thee,
meri hi tarah thee,
muje ek dum aisay laga
jaisay kutta soongh kar
doosray kuttay ko pechaan leta hai.

us ko main ne paisay diyay
us ko main choDna na chahti thee.
akhar kar, hum chahtay hain
k koi apne jaisa paas ho.

fir meri samaj main na aaya
main kyon tere ghar ja rehi thee.

The Same Inside

Walking to your place for a love feast
I saw at a street corner
an old beggar woman.

I took her hand,
kissed her delicate cheek,
we talked, she was
the same inside as I am,
from the same kind,
I sensed this instantly
as a dog knows by scent
another dog.

I gave her money,
I could not part from her.
After all, one needssomeone who is close.

And then I no longer knew
why I was walking to your place.
