The remembrance of the somber dance we did
Will carry on in my heart
How you stared into my eyes remorsefully
Knowing you might not come back
You shed a tear before you gave me one last kiss
Then, I knew we never be with each other again
It was the last kiss we shared
You were off to war, an unjustifable war
That we both knew no one will win
As you handed me an envelope
You told me to buy something I would enjoy
And climbed unto the train
I opened the envelope and found a few thousand dollars
Enough for an engagement ring
So sad and well written, it brought tears to my eyes and remained in my heart,

A heart-wrenching poem that is written with such elegance. Great work, LeeAnn!
